The company was started September 1, 1987 when Mr. Makeever decided to leave his government position as City Engineer for Bucyrus, Ohio and fulfill his dream of managing his own engineering and surveying business.

Starting the company as its sole employee, Mr. Makeever began expanding the company by primarily performing boundary surveys in and around Bucyrus and Crawford County. As the business grew so did the number of associates to its current number of 10. Seasonal employees have raised the number to as high as 17.

Makeever & Associates has expanded its market in surveying to include boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, construction layout and GPS surveying. All surveying activities are fully integrated with current state of the art computer technologies from fieldwork to the finished plats.

Likewise, the engineering division has expanded its market to include, site development, drainage studies, water treatment plants, waste water treatment systems, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, waterlines, pumping stations, street designs and reconstruction, industrial developments, residential subdivisions and manufactured housing communities.

Makeever & Associates also serves in the capacity of City Engineer for Galion, Ohio and Attica, Ohio and in the past has served in the capacity with the City of Bucyrus, Ohio and Jeffersonville, Ohio. Makeever & Associates also provides drainage review services to Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

During the past 21 years of business Makeever & Associates has designed and supervised construction of over $25 million worth of construction projects from as little as a private septic system to a multi-million dollar 270 acre industrial park.

In keeping up with current technologies Makeever & Associates is 100% computerized with its designs and drafting, and in concert with its GPS surveying equipment has completed mapping utilities for Attica, Ohio and Galion, Ohio's integrated GIS mapping system.
